MLB stands for Major League Baseball and it represents the highest level of professional baseball in the United States and Canada. The teams that perform in MLB play in the National League and the American League, which merged in 2000 into simply MLB. Since baseball is one of the most beloved sports in the world, it comes as no surprise that some of the highest salaries can be found in MLB. Although the financial crisis is in full swing, 2011 was one of the years when the biggest salaries were recorded. The top of the MLB players top salaries list is Alex Rodriguez, the third baseman of the New York Yankees, with $ 32 million.
